Movie Review: The Act of Killing (2012)

Legacy of Brutality

Indonesia is a an island nation with a troubled past.  In this documentary, Joshua Oppenheimer gets a rare insight into the men who were considered heroes by some yet who struck terror in the hearts of their enemies.  A group of these men decide to reenact some of the methods that they used to torture and kill their political opponents.  This crazy and bizarre true story is a one of the most powerful things that I've ever seen.

The Act of Killing gets 5 out of 5 stars!
