Sutter is a high school senior who lives for the moment, not wanting to think about his future. He is the life of every party. And he drinks a lot. When his very popular girlfriend breaks up with him, he ends up with Aimee, somewhat of an unknown quantity to Sutter. As their relationship begins to develop, Sutter sees more of what his life will be like after high school and doesn't want things to change. The film has a personality that feels very natural. It is funny without being ridiculous and is dramatic without being cheesy. The interactions between the characters seem very authentic, more like a window into their lives than a scripted film. It is a movie about the teenage years, yet it transcends that trope entirely. From the director of Off the Black and Smashed, this film is a gem is is worthy of all of the praise that it has already gotten.
